SONIA AHUJA
BADWATER 135
2nd WOMEN FINISHER
Riya:Hi, nice to meet you.
Sonia Ahuja:Nice to meet you.
Riya: So my first question is like, what was your most challenging race?
Sonia Ahuja:You know, I feel many of my races have been challenging to me.But I would say definitely the Badwater 135.It was challenging because it had the right combination of elevevation gain,it was 135 miles long and it also had the highest temperature.
Riya: And how many total miles is that?
Sonia Ahuja:The race was 135 miles.
Riya: Wow!!!!
So how do you manage like running and like keeping up with your personal life and work life? Like how would you do that?
Sonia Ahuja:Yeah, I feel like, you know, for me running has become a very high priority. And I think that's how you manage like once you decide that's something you care about, you prioritise it no different than any of your other important projects. So,I put my races on calendar in advance, even running hours and I try to stick to it.
Riya: So is there any message you would give to young girls want to start and to get into running?
Sonia Ahuja:Yeah, I would say you know, I used to think that running is just a physical exercise. But I will say after doing races and getting more involved I feel its so good for our mental wellness too.So I would say keep doing it.
Riya:Thank you.
Sonia Ahuja: You're Welcome.
